YPL Exhibitions & Events, have confirmed the ongoing support of Ladies In Pigs and Ladies In Beef, for this year’s annual Women In Meat Industry Awards (WIM).

The nominations and voting programme commence in June and the annual ceremony, where ten category Awards are presented, following a five star black tie dinner, will once again take place at Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington. This year the date is confirmed as 15th November.

Event organiser Emma Cash said: “Together with the all-important ‘after party’ winners and guests will celebrate the wealth of female talent across the meat industry that will be recognised during a unique evening on 15th November.

“It seems appropriate that we can make this announcement now on International Women’s Day and it is great news that both these women’s organisations covering farming and meat production see the value of our Women In Meat Industry Awards and continue to support the initiative.

“Last year voting and nominations surpassed all expectations and we already have tables booked for the dinner this coming November. It going to be another great year for women in the meat business I’m sure.”

Partners are already coming on-board to be involved and support the event. Those confirmed as participating so far include The Food Training & Education Council (ftc), Kerry Taste & Nutrition, Reiser UK, Marel and Cutting Edge Services. Michelle Ingerfield of Meat Management magazine, who created the initiative said: “There is enormous interest in the Women In Meat Awards and I am sure we will have a full compliment of partners confirmed very soon.”

Debbie Wilson of Ladies in Pigs was enthusiastic: “I am sure this initiative will go from strength to strength. Ladies In Pigs is absolutely delighted to continue our association with the Women In Meat Awards.”

Jilly Greed of Ladies In Beef agreed saying: “We are very pleased to remain involved with the Women In Meat Industry Awards. I am sure our members will be delighted to nominate worthy candidates and of course we have a number of dynamic members driving their own retail and butchery businesses. It really is brilliant that this forum had such a successful launch last year and we wish it continued success.”
