Pre-Christmas strikes will take place at another nine Tesco distribution centres following two ballots of Usdaw union members.

The ballots involved more than 5,000 members, who voted to take industrial action at nine Tesco distribution centres: Daventry Clothing, Goole, Hinckley, Lichfield, Livingston, Magor (both trunk and main sites), Peterborough and Southamption.

A stoppage will begin on Monday 20th December and conclude on Christmas Eve.

The news follows the decision by members of the Unite union to take part in pre-Christmas stoppages at distribution sites in Didcot, Doncaster, Belfast and Antrim, after members rejected a 4% pay offer.

Tesco described the offer as “fair” and expressed confidence that it would still be able to “deliver Christmas” for customers.
