Dave Lewis, group CEO of Tesco, will present the City Food Lecture 2018, the organisers have announced.

The lecture will be held at London’s Guildhall on 28th February 2018 and is considered by many to be a key event in the food industry’s calendar.

The event aims to bring together around 700 people including industry leaders, academics and members of London’s seven leading food related livery companies.

The City London livery companies involved in agriculture and food, which organise the event, include: the Worshipful Companies of Bakers, Butchers, Cooks, Famers, Fishmongers, Fruiterers and Poulters.

City Food Lecture organising chairman, John Giles, commented: “We are thrilled to have Dave speaking at the event next year. His far reaching experience with Tesco and some of the UK’s biggest brands is likely to provide guests with plenty of thought-provoking insights.”

The lecture will be followed by a panel debate consisting of several leaders from the food industry.

Also present at the event will be City Food Lecture sponsor and investment manager, Rathbones, alongside other sponsors, including ESS Compass, ABP, Barfoots, Roythornes and Pelican Communications.

The event will conclude with an informal networking supper in the Guildhall’s Old Library room.
